This piece was written during my undergraduate degree, at which time Francisco Tárrega was one of my favourite composers (in fact, every recital I gave featured his music)! Hommage à Tárrega is my tribute to him and is inspired by the thematic balance, brightness and motivic playfulness I associate with his work.
